About Terra School
Terra means 'Earth' in Latin. Terra School hopes to bring people back into the embrace of Mother Earth, to experience and understand Her in a true way.
Terra School is a school without walls, using the Earth as its classroom and the real world as its textbook. Its starting point comes from my reflections on the future of education: as AI rapidly changes how we acquire knowledge and work, learning should not just happen in classrooms, but requires stepping onto the field to understand real-world issues.
Terra School is structured around three schools: 'Earth, Sky, and Sea,' leading youth into rural fields, high mountains, and deep oceans. Every learning journey begins with stepping into nature: opening the five senses to feel the changes in land, plants, and environment; and slowing down through meditation, observation, and experience to connect with oneself, listening to inner feelings and dialogues.
Students also utilize design thinking and AI tools to understand environmental and local issues, transforming their observations and feelings into concrete proposals. Through cross-school and cross-cultural teamwork, they practice communication, empathy, creativity, and action, rebuilding connections between humans and nature, humans and themselves, and with others.
